Ranveer Singh has been carving his niche in Bollywood and the actor has not failed to leave his charm on fans. While Ranveer has been winning hearts with his stellar performances, this year, the Gully Boy actor has bagged many awards for the Zoya Akhtar film. As Singh has been gearing up for his upcoming projects, recently, in the Actors Roundtable with Rajeev Masand, Singh shared how he wanted to play the character of Moin more than Murad in Gully Boy as he loves the guy.
Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy’s Murad and his rapping skills were entertaining and Ranveer Singh literally nailed his role. At the CNN News 18 Actors Round Table with Rajeev Masand, Ranveer Singh revealed how he wanted to play Vijay Varma’s character of Moin more than his role as Murad in the film. In conversation with Rajeev Masand, Ranveer mentioned how he really connected with Moin and explained how his biggest connection was with Moin on listening to the narration for the first time. During the roundtable interview, Singh shared with Rajeev Masand a little known fact about Moin’s track in Gully Boy. Speaking about Moin’s deleted scenes from Gully Boy and his track, Ranveer disclosed that there is a whole chunk that is not there in the film and he is quite sure that when Zoya Akhtar makes the entire package, those deleted scenes from the film will be there, and mentioned they are cracking. The 83’ actor further went on to share that there was a whole track between Moin and Murad that was left out in order to make the film crisper and added that Vijay Varma made it more impactful.
Ranveer went on to share that Moin’s character was his favourite from the film even at the script level. Singh’s love for the character of Moin was so much so that the actor shared that if Zoya Akhtar would have offered him a choice to pick his character he wanted to play, he would have chosen to play the role of Moin as he loves the guy.
Meanwhile, at the actor's roundtable, Ranveer Singh also shared how he wants to have kids in the future and spend quality time with them. On the work front, the actor will be seen in Kabir Khan’s film 83’ based on India Vs West Indies 1983 World Cup victory. Ranveer will also feature in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
